Wallingford, Oxfordshire, England
Wallingford
Wallingford is a pleasant country market town in the upper Thames Valley. The wooded Chiltern Hills and the beautiful Berkshire Downs form a unique setting.
Historically, Wallingford is hard to surpass. One of the oldest towns in England with a charter dated 1155, its long history is well represented with Saxon Earthworks, the remains of a great castle, a magnificent medieval bridge, an elegant Town Hall (1670) and fine Georgian buildings.
Wallingford stands on the Thames in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
