Located on the edge of the beautiful Hednesford Hills Nature Reserve, the Museum of Cannock Chase illustrates the rich social and industrial heritage of the area, and the social and domestic life of times past.
Visit our Coal Mining Gallery to discover how coal shaped our area. Find out how local mining families lived in Victorian times in our Miner’s Cottage gallery, and discover how the wartime housewife made ends meet in our 1940s Room.
A changing programme of exhibitions ensures that there is always something new to see. And our History of Toys and Coal Face galleries provide an exciting interactive experience for families.
Tour the galleries, relax with a drink in our coffee shop and then enjoy a walk over the adjacent heathland. Our museum shop offers a range of gift ideas, and our Tourist Information Point has details of other local attractions to visit.
The museum also runs an award-winning education service and a conference facility.

CANNOCK CHASE HERITAGE TRAIL
The Museum is the hub of an exciting new Heritage Trail through the Cannock Chase district, between Cannock, Hednesford and Rugeley. The trail, suitable for walkers and cyclists, takes in the historic sites of the area, as well as providing the chance to explore the beautiful landscape of Cannock Chase. You can find out more and pick up a leaflet for this trail from the Museum.
