Explore, wander, shop or just relax and let us guide you through the Stafford experience. The area is served by M6 junctions 13 and 14, and only 12 miles from the M6 Toll. Few towns in the UK could claim to be so centrally located, with such good road and rail access combined with proximity to several major cities, and a choice of airports. Stafford Railway Station is on the West Coast Main Line with excellent links to London, Birmingham and Scotland.

Old and new sit side-by-side in the County town. Pedestrianised walkways take you to the old quarter of Stafford, wander through 17th Century Church Lane or take a break from the shops and relax in St Mary’s Place or Victoria Park. Salter Street leads you towards the Theatre and Martin Street with architecture charting the town’s progress C1200 to the present day.

For all you time travellers don’t miss the Ancient High House, the largest timber framed town house in England. There’s also Stafford Castle dating from Norman times and, Izaak Walton Cottage the ‘chocolate box’ location dedicated to angling. A short journey will find you at some of our most grand houses including Lord Lichfield’s estate of Shugborough, Sandon Hall and Weston Park. Celebrating the past whilst providing a venue for some of the county’s most popular events. RAF Museum, Cosford celebrates man’s 20th century achievements in flight. The Coors Visitor Centre, Burton on Trent charts the history of brewing, and, not forgetting the most famous potter in history, the Wedgwood Centre at Barlaston must rate highly on your list to visit.
