The county of Staffordshire stands just north of the The West Midlands with Derbyshire to the east, Cheshire to the north and Shropshire to the West.
The county is famous for its potteries, it's industry, the canal network, its breweries and a variety of historic attractions nowhere more evident than in Lichfield which is home to a quite exceptional cathedral.
Stafford is famous for its Ancient High House and Izaak Walton's cottage, Stoke on Trent for Wedgwood, arguably the finest china company in England and Royal Doulton's crystal, Alton (Towers) for its theme park and Cannock for its nature resrve and museum.
There also many heritage sites, museums and stately homes worthy of visiting:- Moseley Old Hall, Shugborough (home of the late Lord Lichfield), Samuel Johnsons Birthplace, Stafford Castle and Tamworth Castle to mention but a few.
