Lincolnshire is the easternmost part of the Midlands; Yorkshire to the north, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire to the the west, Cambridgeshire and Norfolk to the south.

The county is divided into three distinct topographical areas, in the north you find the green hills of the chalk wolds and busy North Sea fishing ports. In the west is Lincoln, once the most important city in England with It’s immense Norman cathedral and castle and ruins dating from Roman times.

In the south, the flat lands of the Holland district are reminiscent of the Netherlands with drained fens, Dutch gabled houses and colourful tulip fields.
