Lichfield Cathedral online: information and bookings
If you visit Lichfield Cathedral, you will receive a warm welcome and a leaflet (available in English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, Japanese, Danish and Italian) which will guide you round the Cathedral. Leaflets are also available for children.
Hospitality is provided by Chapters, our own licensed restaurant, serving light meals, tea and coffee, wine and beer.
Information is available from our team of Welcomers, our trained Guides and Chaplains, and from the Visitors' Centre.
Facilities are provided for those with special needs, and there are RE resources for the use of special needs students and schools.
Accessible toilets are available at College Hall, the Cathedral Coffee Shop, and opposite the Visitors' Centre. Public toilets are also available on these sites. Most of the building and the entire Close is accessible to wheelchair users. Plans are in hand to improve facilities further.
Our guides are trained to take round those with special needs, and we are working on educational resources for the use of special needs schools.
Facilities
The main Cathedral Shop is situated opposite the West Front of the Cathedral at 9, The Close. (There is also a second shop within the Cathedral.)
It sells Christian books, cards and gifts. You can also purchase CDs and audio tapes, especially those of the Lichfield Cathedral Choir and the Hill Organ.
Books, CDs, and tapes can be ordered directly from the shop. Orders will be despatched by return, and the invoice will include postal charges, and a 50p handling charge.
Restaurant
The Chapters coffee shop with unique C13th walled garden, part of the magnificent mediaeval fortification of The Close, for Lichfield Cathedral, is the idyllic setting to meet friends for coffee or enjoy locally sourced, freshly prepared dishes for lunch, which is served seven days per week.
Feel the difference – enjoy afternoon tea outside in the peaceful setting of the Garden, indulge in a slice of homemade cake and soak up the tranquil mediaeval atmosphere.
In case of alteration, please check prices, opening times and any specific important information before booking or visiting
