WARWICKSHIRE

This county is full of character and best known for Stratford upon Avon and all its William Shakespeare connections. Another famous literary figure of Warwickshire was George Eliot (Mary Anne Evans) who was born in Nuneaton

Warwickshire has a population of around 600,000 and lies just below the East Midlands and is surrounded by Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire to the south, Northamptonshire to the east, Worcestershire, Birmingham and the West Midlands to the West and Staffordshire and Leicestershire to the North.

Warwickshire is a relatively densely populated area that manages to offer stretches of lovely countryside. The closeness of Birmingham (the UK’s second city) is of great advantage and a visit to magnificent Warwick Castle, Arbury Hall, Ragley Hall, The Shakespeare Houses, Charlecote Park, Coughton Court or a stroll around the Spa resort of Leamington are all well advised.

National Trust properties are prolific in Warwickshire.
