This delightful country house style hotel is set in 3.5 acres of landscaped gardens which have a peace and charm all of their own and are often visited be grey squirrels, wild deer and the occasional fox. The house itself dates back to the1820‘s and it has been a hotel since 1961. The resident owners pride themselves on their hospitality and service, and the friendliness of the staff.

As owners Martin and Sheena have also been careful to tastefully decorate the hotel in a style that is in keeping with the nature of the building, so that it maintains the warmth, comfort and elegance you would expect from a country house hotel.

Consequently the hotel also becomes a perfect venue for small wedding parties and family celebrations.

The Cliffe Hotel is ideally positioned for visitors to the west country with the historic city of Bath close-by and easy access to other attractions such as Longleat, the home of the Marquis of Bath and it‘s famous Safari Park. You can also visit the city of Wells and nearby Glastonbury; the beautiful Wiltshire villages of Lacock and Castle Combe, and towns such as Bradford on Avon with easy access to the Kennet and Avon Canal. In addition the hotel is also a good base for business people who wish to be close to the commercial centres of Bristol and Bath and who also wish to have easy access to the motorway system for journeys to South Wales and the South West.

The award winning FOUR SEASONS restaurant reflects the superb quality of the cuisine and provides a varied a la carte menu with a wide choice of beautifully presented dishes using fresh local produce wherever possible. The menu is complemented by an extensive wine list to suite all occasions. Early supper arrangements for children and a room service menu are also available, just part of the warmth and friendly nature of the hotel.
