A charming Georgian building, built as a workhouse in 1764, now filled with a rich variety of displays and a regular and varied exhibitions programme.

Our Museum shop is a great place to find unusual presents and cards that you won’t find on the High Street. It stocks a wide range of gifts and souvenirs, specialising in old-fashioned toys, gemstones, books about Christchurch and the surrounding area and good quality craft items, sourced from local makers.

Weddings and Conferences
If you’re looking for an unusual setting for your party, seminar or meeting, the Red House Museum and beautiful walled Gardens provide a unique, atmospheric venue.

Just a few minutes from Christchurch’s High Street and Priory Church, with excellent transport links and nearby parking, the Red House Museum & Gardens provide the perfect solution, with a variety of spaces available.

To date, we have hosted garden parties, corporate evenings, book launches, promotional filming and more and our friendly onsite team look forward to helping ensure that your event is a success too.

The whole Museum can be booked for events, or the education/meeting room can be booked separately.

For a whole museum booking, guests/delegates will have access to all the public spaces, but the following spaces are available for seated events if require.
