The little church, largely Saxon, is said to stand on the site of a Roman basilica built about AD. 350. Nestling in an area of serene and natural beauty it is frequently the subject of an artist's brush. Only slightly further afield are the attractions Fishbourne Roman Palace and Chichester City with its cathedral and renowned Festival Theatre.
