The vernacular-style Visitor Centre, built of local flint and brick, was opened by the Prince of Wales in 1996. Adjacent to the River Lavant, the Visitor Centre overlooks the beautiful Lavant valley and West Dean Park. It houses a quality licensed restaurant for home-made lunches and afternoon teas. There is a garden shop carrying an imaginative range of gifts and plants for sale.

West Dean Conference Centre is housed in a fine flint country house, set in a 6,000-acre estate in the Sussex Downs and surrounded by award-winning gardens.
The conference rooms include the complimentary use of a PA system, DVD or video player, TV, slide projectors, overhead projectors, flipcharts, stage erection and blackout. A small charge is made for data/LCD projectors and laptops. There is an IT suite on-site which can be used by delegates by prior arrangement. Water and sweets are included on tables.
