RHS Garden Harlow Carr online: information and bookings
Harlow Carr is the newest and most northerly of the four RHS gardens. This, along with its challenging growing conditions, offers an ideal place to view what can be grown successfully in the region.
The garden is seeing exciting new developments while retaining its uniquely tranquil and welcoming atmosphere. The newly expanded Kitchen Garden is now home to four hens, and is the perfect place to pick up tips on sustainable living and growing your own produce. And the popular Scented Garden has been rejuvenated, with a focus on roses – intimate planting and a feast for the eyes and the nose! Also not to be missed are the superb Main Borders – a gorgeous mix of herbaceous perennials, grasses and shrubs, featuring both hot, vibrant colours and cooler shades. Gardens Through Time takes you through 200 years of living gardening history up to a contemporary garden designed by Diarmuid Gavin. Opened in summer 2010, the Bramall Learning Centre is one of the most sustainable buildings in the country and houses hundreds of horticultural titles on every topic in its Blundell Library.
There’s plenty for the young ones in the family too – they can run along the winding Logness Monster, hide in the Hungry Caterpillar, get lost in the Log Maze, or simply explore the garden and see what they can spot from season to season!
The garden offers interest for all seasons – from vegetables to wildflowers and alpines to woodland – as well as the fabulous Bettys Café Tea Rooms and Shop offering delicious food, tempting treats and the best teas and coffees.
There are year round events for all the family including walks, talks, demonstrations, quizzes and trails on everything from growing your own fruit and veg, to beekeeping and bushcraft, as well as activities for the children during the school holidays and seasonal events too.

Bettys Café Tea Rooms and Shop
We offer all the traditional Bettys treats - fabulous food, mouth-watering hand-made cakes, the best teas and coffees, accompanied by the highest standards and friendly smiles. Enjoy a relaxed meal in the Café, or tea 'al fresco' on the terrace overlooking the gardens - and if you're short on time then the elegant coffee lounge is the perfect choice.
The shop has the most tempting of breads, cakes and chocolates, and there's even the chance to buy a picnic from Bettys Tea House in the garden.
Bettys Café Tea Rooms & Shop enjoys an elevated position overlooking the beautiful grounds of RHS Garden Harlow Carr. From your table you can admire the panoramic view while enjoying your meal.
