At the `Hoops` we pride ourselves on the extensive range and high quality of the food we provide. The menu is changed to accommodate seasonal specialities and is freshly prepared in our own kitchens using the best of garden & local produce. Guests can choose to dine in the candlelit restaurant, in the relaxed bars or, on balmy summer days, alfresco in the covered courtyard. More energetic walkers and birdwatchers can follow the steps of Henry Williamsons Otter on the Tarka Trail, take a trip to Lundy Island or ramble along the North Devon Coastal Path. This Thirteenth Century Inn is one of England's most famous, being notorious as the haunt of smugglers and a meeting place for seafarers such as Sir Francis Drake, Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Richard Grenville. In Winter relaxing by one of our inglenook fireplaces warming yourself next to a blazing log fire you can imagine being transported back in time to a less complicated age.
