Oliver Cromwell was born on April 25th 1599. Since his death as Lord Protector in 1658 his fascinating life, ambitions, motives and actions have been the subject of much investigation and debate. Cromwell's family moved to Ely in 1636 and remained for some ten years. Learn about this incredible man’s life through re-created period rooms as well as exhibitions detailing the Civil War. Visit Mrs Cromwell’s kitchen, see how the children of the 17th century spent their days and venture into the Haunted Bedroom – if you dare! Audio handsets bring the story of this impressive House to life.
