Hall Place is a Grade I listed house in award winning Grade II* listed gardens. It is a fine Tudor mansion built almost 500 years ago in the reign of Henry VIII for the Lord Mayor of London, Sir John Champneys. The house, celebrated by Simon Jenkins in his book ‘England’s Thousand Best Houses’ boasts a magnificent panelled Great Hall with Minstrel’s Gallery and fine decorative plaster ceilings.
With award winning gardens, a stunning topiary lawn, herb gardens and inspirational herbaceous border the gardens are of interest throughout the year. The former walled gardens have a plant nursery with allotments, model gardens and a sub –tropical plant house. Hall Place also has a gift shop stocked with handmade items from local crafts people. There are three galleries presenting art exhibitions and museum displays and there is an opportunity to purchase artists’ work throughout the year.

The gardens provide a beautiful setting for your wedding photographs.
The Great Hall and the Drawing Room are both sanctioned for civil ceremonies, either for the more intimate service of up to 40 or for the larger group of up to 100. The house is a Grade 1 listed building, which offers an opportunity for a ceremony at an unusual and stunning venue.
Follow your ceremony by leading your guests out in to the private gardens from the Great Hall or out on to the topiary lawn to capture that special moment. Reception drinks can be provided if required.
CONFERENCES AND CORPORATE EVENTS IN BEXLEY
Hall Place and Danson House offer a special location for that important meeting or conference. We have meeting rooms and smaller rooms for break out sessions as well as larger spaces for plenary sessions.
We can provide tea and coffee in the morning and afternoon, and a delicious lunch. We can also offer your delegates a tour of the house and gardens or just time to have a look round for themselves.
Both houses are well situated, being just off the A2 and close to the M25. There are direct rail links into central London.
