Rampsbeck is an elegant 18th Century Country House on the shores of Lake Ullswater with spectacular views of the lake and fells. It stands in 18 acres of parkland and gardens and is listed as one of the most beautifully situated hotels in Great Britain.
Privately owned and managed by Tom and Marion Gibb and her mother Mrs MacDowall, care has been taken to maintain the character of the house, adding only to its comfort. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the service is courteous and the food superb.
Most of the attractive, well appointed bedrooms have views of lake and garden. All the deluxe rooms, three with balconies, have magnificent views of the Lake and surrounding Fells.
The award winning restaurant is served by Master Chef Andrew McGeorge and his brigade. Using fresh produce Andrew provides a choice of artistically presented dishes carefully prepared with flair and imagination. The well-appointed Dining Room overlooking the Lake enhances the fine dining experience.
Guests can relax in the elegant drawing room, a smaller lounge or the large panelled Hall, warmed on cooler days by log fires.
