Cotehele
NATIONAL TRUST online: information and bookings
Cotehele, owned by the Edgcumbe family for nearly 600 years, is a fascinating and enchanting estate set on the steep wooded slopes of the River Tamar. Exploring Cotehele’s many and various charms provides a full day out for the family and leaves everyone longing to return. A walk through the garden and along the river leads to the quay where the restored Tamar sailing barge Shamrock is moored. Cotehele Mill is to be found tucked away in the woods. Restored to working order and now grinding corn to produce flour, (which can be purchased) the 0.3mile walk from the Quay is a must.
