The Regency Romanesque Castle (Grade II* Listed Building of Architectural and Historic Interest) was built on an earlier structure in 1829-35 and is attributed to Thomas Hopper.

The romantic Castle is set in gentle Snowdonian foothills in 32 acres of serene surroundings - with listed gardens landscaped from 1830, sweeping lawns blending into woodlands - and our panoramic hill-walk overlooking the sea, Anglesey and Snowdon captures the essence of North Wales' natural beauty. Four miles from historic Royal Caernarfon on the coast, and three miles from Llanberis at the foot of Snowdon, it is superbly centrally situated for enjoying North Wales' magnificent mountains, lakes, forests, National Park, sandy beaches, resorts, heritage, culture ........ There are many world famous attractions ranging from National Trust gardens..... to mountain railways and innumerable activities, from walking....... to water sports.
