Port Sunlight Museum & Garden Village online: information and bookings

Port Sunlight, built in 1888 and steeped in history. One of the finest industrial village’s, and most complete examples of early urban planning in the UK. Celebrating the vision of the founder, William Hesketh Lever, the village is a lasting legacy of his forward thinking and passion of architecture, giving visitors the chance to explore and discover the many beautiful buildings and monuments placed amongst the stunning floral landscaped displays.

There is so much more to Port Sunlight than its beautiful architecture. As a living village with approximately 3,000 residents living in over 900 dwellings, the village is alive with a variety of people, some of whom have lived in Port Sunlight all their lives. The village boasts a well attended Church, Christ Church, built in 1903, a gift from Lever to the villagers, with a capacity to hold 800 people.

Within the village there are café’s, tea rooms, inns, and hotels, each offering a variety of choices for the varied visitor to Port Sunlight. Set in the heart of the village lies Port Sunlight Museum, a modern interactive, informative museum telling the social history of early village life.

For coach parties, why not take advantage of the museum’s ‘Group Package Deal’, combining a visit into the museum, time to take in the beautiful gifts on sale in the gift shop, followed by a guided village tour on your coach. This value for money offer to our coach groups, brings a full and informative day to everyone!

Individual visitors can take a self guided walking trail around the village once they have visited the museum. The trail guides you around on a circular route so you end back outside the museum, which is ideal for you to visit the newly opened ‘tea’ at Port Sunlight Museum tea room.

So much to see and do in Port Sunlight, we look forward to welcoming you very soon!
