Compton Verney is an award winning Art Gallery in Warwickshire.  It offers informal and enjoyable ways to experience art whatever your age or knowledge.  The gallery is housed in an 18th century Grade I listed mansion designed by Robert Adam surrounded by 120 acres of ‘Capability’ Brown landscaped parkland.

Visitor attraction of the year 2006, the gallery houses a growing collection of significant works of art from around the world which include: paintings from the golden age of Neapolitan art; Germanic paintings and sculpture including the work of Cranach and Schongauer; British portraits featuring artists such as Sir Joshua Reynolds and a collection of Tudor portraits; the largest collection of Chinese bronzes outside London and a striking collection of terracotta horsemen; the Marx-Lambert collection of items relating to Enid Marx’s work as a textile designer and the largest collection of British Folk Art in the UK.

To complement the collections, Compton Verney presents an attractive programme of temporary exhibitions that include loans from major museums and galleries both national and international.  Past exhibitions have included works by Peter Greenaway, Van Gogh, Francis Bacon, Wassily Kandinsky, Piet Mondrian, Salvator Rosa, Paula Rego Luc Tuymans and Susan Hiller.

There is also and ongoing programme of special events, talks, tours and workshops.

Your wedding day is undoubtedly one of the most exciting and memorable days of your life, so choosing a wedding and reception venue for the big day can be a daunting task. Whether your preference is for the most intimate ceremony and reception with your closest friends and family or a lavish mansion house affair with perfect photographic backdrops, Compton Verney is the ideal solution.

We are delighted that both the Adam Hall and the wedding marquee are available exclusively to the sole wedding party, while the Gallery itself remains open to the public during normal opening hours.

The Adam Hall, with its marble floor and ornate ceiling, is a beautiful room for your civil ceremony, wedding breakfast for up to 100 guests or reception drinks and photographs before dinner in our dramatic lakeside marquee.

If you're looking for a larger space, our marquee located on the West lawn, with lakeside views is available from June to September and caters for up to 200 guests for a wedding breakfast and 350 for an evening reception.

Our dedicated Wedding Co-ordinator and an experienced Events Team will guide you through every step of the way. They are on hand before the event to help you plan your special day and will be there on the day for those inevitable last minute tweaks, leaving you and your guests to relax and enjoy the day.
