High Beeches Woodland Gardens online: information and bookings
Enjoy a visit to High Beeches, an exceptionally well preserved example of a landscaped woodland garden, dating from the early 20th century.
The Gardens are listed Grade II (star) on the English Heritage register of Parks and Gardens. Planted originally by Colonel Loder from 1906, the Gardens now cover 20 acres (8 hectares) and contain varied and extensive plant collections in a beautiful and natural landscape setting.
Especially colourful in Spring and Autumn, there is always plenty to interest the visitor.
The High Weald of Sussex is now designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The High Beeches Gardens are on the southern face of that part of the High Weald long known as the Forest Ridges. The gardens themselves are declared ‘Outstanding’ by English Heritage, as an exceptionally well preserved example of a landscaped woodland garden, dating from the early 20th century.
Less than one hour from London, in a very densely populated district, they are an oasis of peace and tranquillity
