Trevalsa Court
Country House Hotel online: information and bookings

Built overlooking the sea in the 1930s the Trevalsa was discovered by owners Klaus Wagner and Matthias Mainka in 1999, who lovingly set to work to restore the casual but elegant atmosphere of a country house.

Blending traditional and modern styles, its oak-panelled hall and dining room, beautiful lounge and mullioned windows recall the ambience of a bygone age, whilst the newly refurbished en-suite bedrooms are simply and classically furnished. All principal bedrooms have splendid sea views and on the ground floor are 3 rooms particularly suitable for elderly or less able guests. The hotel's grounds are above the sheltered Polstreath Beach and access to its sloping sands and coves for swimming and fishing is directly available from the garden. A footpath also leads to the harbour and typically Cornish streets of Mevagissey, and St Austell, with its 18-hole golf course and modern sports centre, is just 5 miles away.

Trevalsa Court can be reached by car without passing through Mevagissy's narrow roads and its location makes it an excellent base for touring all parts of Cornwall. The award-winning Lost Gardens of Heligan and the Eden Project, fast becoming a top visitor destination for the 21st century, are nearby.

Trevalsa is a member of the Cornwall Tourist Board since 1956. Also we are inspected and recommended by:
• Johansens Conde Nast
• Special Places To Stay
• Michelin UK

Restaurant
Really fresh fish, often caught that day, is a delight. Locally reared meat, fed only what is grown on the farm. Locally made dairy products - do you know how many Cornish cheeses there are? Local soft fruits and vegetables, picked and eaten whilst they are at their best. These are lost tastes that Cornwall is reviving. With such an abundance of fine tasting local produce, we keep our menus simple but interesting.

Meals may be eaten in our romantic, oak panelled restaurant with views over the gardens to the sea, or on warm days and evenings, on the terrace. Early suppers can be provided for young children and picnics packed for days out.
