The home of the Seigneurs de Sausmarez since c.1220 with a façade built at the bequest of the first Governor of New York

An entrancing and entertaining half day encompassing something to interest everyone. The family have been explorers, inventors, diplomats, prelates, generals, admirals, privateers, politicians and governors etc, most of whom have left their mark on the house, garden or the furniture.

The sub-tropical woodland garden is crammed with such exotics as banana trees, tree ferns, ginger, 300+ camellias, lilies, myriads of bamboos, as well as the more commonplace hydrangeas, hostas etc.

The sculpture in the art park with its 200 or so pieces by artists from a dozen countries is the most comprehensive in Britain.

The pitch and putt is a cruelly testing 500 metre 9 hole par 3.

The ride-on trains travel 1/4 mile through part of the woodland.
The two lakes are a haven for ornamental wildfowl and some of the sculpture.

Sausmarez Manor is available for corporate hospitality functions and Civil weddings. It also offers guided tours, welcomes schools (has education programmes), and has a tearoom, café, gift shop and art gallery.

There is ample parking for cars and coaches. Partially suitable for disabled access.

If you like the special and somewhere different, the Manor is perfect venue for your most important day and it is occasionally let out for this.

It is well sign posted though the entrance can be missed if you drive too briskly on the right coming from St Peter Port.
