North Wiltshire, where the Cotswolds meet the Wiltshire Downs, is an area of rich countryside with a peaceful ancient landscape, historic market towns and timeless golden stone villages.Much of the District is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a film-maker’s dream. Lacock is the only 15th-century village to be preserved by the National Trust and in the Abbey, Fox Talbot pioneered photography.

Visit the imposing stately homes of Bowood, set in glorious parkland, with an exciting Adventure Playground, 13th Century Lacock Abbey and Corsham Court, internationally renowned for its art treasures. Trace the history of the famous wool and Bath stone industries in the Corsham Heritage Centre and the architectural heritage in fine houses, country manors and Weavers’ Cottages in Corsham.

Get away by exploring the miles of cycleways, bridleways and footpaths that cross the district. Take part in many exciting water sports at Cotswold Water Park with its Children’s Beach, choose from eight golf courses or indulge in being a racing driver at Castle Combe Racing Circuit.

Easy access from the M4 and regular intercity Rail Services, just one hour from London, makes North Wiltshire an ideal base from which to explore the nearby areas of Bath, Stonehenge and the glorious Cotswolds.
