The Lake Vyrnwy Hotel & Spa sits in the folds of the Berwyn Mountains on the Mid Wales Shropshire border (1½ hours from Birmingham)

The Lake, a magnificent Victorian reservoir complete with a fairy tale water tower that dominates the scene from the hotel.

The view is really exceptional. One can sit and enjoy the cuisine and watch one of the finest sunsets in the UK.

There is a lounge/cocktail bar area, together with a Drawing Room that displays a beautiful Bechstein Grand Piano. All the rooms have been individually decorated, 21 of which have balconies.

The welcome is unpretentious and informal yet professional, and the food is a joy. There is also a traditional Tavern on site with real ale wither you can enjoy a more informal dining experience.

Restaurant
Our head chef David Thompson has gathered a vibrant and talented brigade to produce food for our rosette awarded restaurant. The main emphasis is to cook creative yet fulsome food, using the seasonal fresh produce for which Wales and borderlands is famous. The hotel also has the sporting rights to the estate and in season much of the game shot finds its way to the kitchen.

Dress Code Our dress code in the Tower Restaurant is smart casual (no trainers).
