Chislehurst Caves online: information and bookings

Chislehurst Caves are a labyrinth of dark mysterious passages which have been hewn by hand from the chalk, deep beneath Chislehurst. There are three separate sections, attributed to the Druids, Romans and Saxons. These three sections have now been combined into one massive system, and in all there are more than twenty miles of tunnels here.

Experienced guides will take you on a forty five minute lamplit tour, and explain how the caves became an underground town during World War II, when they were used as a shelter. They'll also show you the Caves Church, Druid Altar, Haunted Pool and more!

Open from Wednesday to Sunday (daily during school holidays), the tours go in hourly from 10am until 4pm.
