The Peacock At Rowsley online: information and bookings
The Peacock at Rowsley is a small luxury hotel located in the famous Peak District in the heart of England, and conveniently close to the major towns of Chesterfield, Sheffield, Manchester, Nottingham and Derby.
Recently acquired by Lord Edward Manners, owner of nearby Haddon Hall, the hotel has been refurbished throughout and styled by award winning designer India Mahdavi.
Our 16 comfortable en suite bedrooms are luxuriously appointed with antique furniture, crisp white sheets and the finest fabrics sourced from London, Paris, New York and Milan.
Dan Smith, Head Chef, having worked with Tom Aikens in London has returned to Derbyshire and has prepared and designed tantalising menus for our restaurant and bar, using wherever possible locally sourced ingredients.
The Peacock is famed for its seven miles of fly fishing on the Rivers Wye and Derwent where anglers come from all over the world to fish for rare wild rainbow trout and our unique strain of brown trout. We are also ideally located for visiting nearby Haddon Hall and Chatsworth House.
We aim to provide a relaxed and comfortable experience whether you are coming for a weekend in the country, a special occasion, or just to eat and drink.
We have lots of information on walking, cycling, local attractions and you benefit with a 50% discount to Haddon Hall and 10% discount to Chatworth House.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to The Peacock.
Our 16 comfortable and luxuriously appointed bedrooms are constantly maintained and we have completely refurbished all our bathrooms. Our standard rooms have a king-size bed and our large doubles have super-king-size beds. We have two special rooms, one with a four poster and one with an antique bed originally from Belvoir Castle both beautifully light rooms.
THE BEDROOMSEach room has been individually styled by India Mahdavi, an award winning international designer, who has added a contemporary and comfortable feel to this ancient building and the many pieces of antique furniture and old pictures that adorn it.
All bedrooms have en suite facilities, flat screen LCD TV's, DVD players, hairdryer, direct dial telephone, tea and coffee making facilities and four bedrooms have a mini bar.
Complimentary WIFI is available throughout the hotel and i-pod docking stations are available on request.

FISHING NEARBY
WYE
Seven miles of some of the best dry fly, wild trout fishing in the UK, with absolutely no stocking, complimented by strict catch and release. Haddon Estate's Riverkeepers are always free to offer helpful advice and guides are available for longer periods of assistance. This river teems with insects due to the excellent water quality so there is always something to cast to and stalk, including the very accommodating Wild Rainbows. Available to both residents and non-residents.
DERWENT
3 ½ miles of fly fishing for the Derwents’ trout, grayling and stocked trout. Dries, wets and nymphs can be used and unlike the Wye we recommend responsible and safe wading here. Resisdents only.
We sell fishing equipment at reception including selected flies and tippet material.
Restaurant
Our main Restaurant, and the more intimate Wye Room offer delicious food in peaceful surroundings for a leisurely lunch or dinner with views onto the garden. Head Chef, Daniel Smith, has developed a mouth watering menu using wherever possible delicious local ingredients, and our wine list features a wide range of wines from around the world.
