Pear Tree Farm offers a friendly and welcoming stay in a four-star farmhouse-style Guest House. The property is situated within the beautiful Amber Valley and nestled in the heart of Derbyshire. We are located on the edge of the Peak District and Derbyshire Dales and just 10 minutes away from the hugely popular Matlock Bath. Pear Tree Farm is within the Derwent Valley World Heritage designation and is mentioned in the literature as a 17th century corn mill in connection with Florence Nightingale’s family. The local landscape is steeped in history with picturesque countryside as well as stately homes, museums and art galleries all a short drive away. Our rural location means that we have nature on our doorstep as foxes, badgers, kingfishers and watervoles have all made their home around Pear Tree Farm.

We offer self catering option for sole use of the whole guest house, please book early for this option. Accommodates 20 to 25 in extra put up beds if needed. We have a private off road car park, all rooms made up as for B&B, large sitting room, separate dining room and small catering kitchen. Please ask if you wish to use the BBQ and/or gazebo.<

Sue and Alan Barber and the Derbyshire Arts team offer you a warm welcome to a wide range of art courses and painting holidays in a variety of mediums and styles. We offer both residential and day attendance options tutored by the very best internationally-renowned artists. Pear Tree Farm studio is situated in a beautiful rural setting overlooking Lea Brook near Matlock in the Derbyshire Dales, England.
Painting tuition is offered to all levels of ability from the complete beginner to the experienced artist and with over 30 courses available in 2012 we really believe there is something for everyone!
Art Studio
Situated overlooking the picturesque Lea Brook, our purpose-built art studio is a welcoming space offering all the creature comforts, including; fridge, drinks tray and hot/cold water. The studio provides the ideal indoor venue for our art courses (unless out on location) and can be hired separately by art clubs or groups wishing to arrange their own special breaks.
