Rye itself is a bustling, jovial market town with richly contrasting examples of architecture over several centuries, and being on the famous cobbled Mermaid Street means that there is no more convenient place to stay than Jeakes House Guest Accommodation. Rye boasts a fine museum within the Norman keep of the Ypres Castle, an ancient church with an Elizabethan clock and the last stained glass window created by Edward Burne-Jones and William Morris, art galleries and potteries.

The dramatic bar provides a comfortable and welcoming place to sit and relax before going out for the evening and the perfect place for a drink before you retire for the night. The granite topped honesty bar is open at all times exclusively for Jeake's House guests. You are welcome to help yourself to drinks and to make a note on the pad provided so that the cost can be added to your bill on departure.

A folder of sample menus from local restaurants is available to help you find the best food. We also have advice on walks and attractions in Rye and the surrounding areas so you can make the most of your break away.

BREAKFAST AT JEAKE'S HOUSE
After a comfortable nights sleep at this Rye Bed & Breakfast you will be able to enjoy a delicious breakfast in our galleried dining room which was formally the meeting place of the Rye Quakers.  The building was then bought by the Baptists who used the building as a chapel until 1909. The pews from the chapel have been used to furnish our bar and the old baptismal font still lies under the floor boards.
