Delgatie Castle online: information and bookings
The home of the late Captain Hay of Delgatie, Delgatie Castle dates from 1030 and boasts displays of original Victorian clothes, original painted ceilings and one of the widest turnpike stairs in Scotland.
Mary Queen of Scots stayed at Delgatie for three days after the Battle of Corrichie in 1562. Her bedchamber is on view to the public.
In order that his life’s work would continue, Captain Hay made the Castle into a non-profit making charitable trust to continue the restoration and maintenance of the Castle.
