Browns Tavistock online: information and bookings

Providing well equipped accommodation, you can treat yourself to the sophisticated, locally sourced cuisine in the stylish Brasserie. Explore the chic surroundings and you'll be able to enjoy a glass from from the extensive wine cellar, amid comfortable sofas and winter log fires; or during summer months relax in the courtyard and soak up the sun in the airy conservatory, where you will find a functioning fresh water well that is said to date back to Roman times. Such features are further complemented by a modern gym facility, making Browns the 'Town Hotel of the Year, 2006' according to the prestigious 'The Good Hotel Guide Cesar Awards'. Originally built by the 7th Duke of Bedford, Brown's most interesting feature is its ancient well that can now be found in its conservatory. Believed to have been constructed by the Romans, its fresh water still runs today and is botted on the premises, available for you to try. Particularly renowned for its tradtional Sunday lunches, the Brasserie features a varied menu of locally sourced meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, chosen and prepared by a professional chef. Lunch is available for around 15 GBP, with dinner costing approximately 35 GBP. Meals are also on offer in the bar area.
