It remained a Temperance Hotel until 1950's when it changed from The Feathers Temperance Hotel to the now Central Hotel. The building is in common with other buildings in the Square and is a Grade 2 listed building. Visit our Central Cafe which provides all kinds of meals from take away to homecooked meals. All our food is freshly prepared when you order. All our deserts and cakes are home made on the premises. Our Tudor Restaurant is a must for a comfortable night out in warm friendly atmosphere. The building is grade 2 listed, was built in the 17th Century and was a rareity then as a Temperance Hotel. Originally a coaching Inn on the route from London to Holyhead. Named The Feathers Temperance Hotel, it remained a Temperance Hotel until 1950's. It was used as a local Snooker Hall and when it was converted to what is now The Central Hotel, 18 full sized snooker tables were removed from the premises. It was also the local place to attend Tea Dances in the Tudor Room of the Hotel in the 40's/50's.
