Places to Visit in Channel Islands.

Situated in the English Channel between England and France, The Channel Islands consist of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney, Sark and Herm. The Islands benefit from the softer climate that the Northern French coast offers. French influence is very strong and this provides a truly continental feel. Jersey and Guernsey are also self governing and again therefore enjoy tax haven status. Heritage abounds here too as one would expect form outposts in such a strong strategic position and they were of course the only parts of the UK to suffer from German occupation during World war two.

The Channel islands were originally a part of Normandy but became associated with England during the reign of William the Conqueror. This has created a fascinating Anglo Norman culture which is still evident on the islands today.
