Bed and Breakfast in Essex, England.

The county of Essex is situated in East Anglia, North of The Thames estuary with Kent to the south linked by the Dartford Tunnel crossing, Suffolk to the north and moving to the west, Greater London, Hertfordshire and north west to Cambridgeshire. Essex enjoys both a close proximity to London and a smattering of seaside resorts. Rural Essex is a delight, particularly where it borders Suffolk to the north and in Constable’s paintings there are many scenes which remain today. The Romans settled here with both Colchester and Chelmsford reaching national importance, the lformer, Colchester, is the oldest recorded Roman town in England, existing as a Celtic settlement before the Roman conquest and the latter being the only English town to receive the Royal prefix. Essex has a population of around 1,600,000 and it’s county town is Chelmsford. Essex is also host to Stansted Airport, London's third airport, which is situated on the Essex and Cambridgeshire border and just a 45 minute drive to London.
